The stones are situated on Bodmin Moor and consists of three circles and are in a line. The circle are all different sizes the southern circle now as 9 stones, the northern circle as 15 stones and the bggest central circle as 14. The individual stones are of varying shapes but have been erected in a way that they appear the same height. It is not sure when the stones dates from as there as been no archaeological finds from the site.
The stones got the name from the tale that they were men and women who where playinga ball game Hurling on a Sabbath day and were turned to stone for their wrong doing.
It is said that you are unable to count the correct numbers of stone but if you do get it right then bad luck will follow you.
