The first house of the town used to be on this site which was built in 1741 and demolished in 1823. Then the Eagle Hotel which was owned by the Moravian Church, this was also demolished by the new owners to make way for Hotel Bethlehem which was built in 1923. The present owners have restored it to its former glory. The hotel is very haunted with people hearing their names being called, strange shadows, items being dropped to the floor and many ghosts being seen
