Gallarus Oratory County Kerry

This is believed to be an early Christian church built between the 6^th and 9^th century. The small oratory has been built without any type of mortar and the bricks are at slight right angle, which allows the rain water to run off keeping the interior dry. It has only a door way and a small window to allow light in and is built like the shape of an upturned boat. Many people who have visited the building have reported that when they go inside the structure, they have an overwhelming feeling of being enveloped by many spirits of years gone by and have a strong feeling on how things would have been when it was in use.
