 Craig Y Nos was built in the 1800s as a relatively small country house, and was originally called Bryn Melin. But in 1878 Adelina Patti brought it and renamed it as Craig Y Nos, she also made lots of alterations and extensions to it, which almost doubled it size. After Adelina died it was passed onto her husband who sold it to the King Edward VII Welsh National Memorial Association, who turned into a hospitals for TB patients.
It is said to have many ghosts and strange things happen in the castle Adelina herself is said to haunt the opera house, and playing the song Home Sweet Home is said to bring her forward, and ghosts of the patients when it became a hospital are said to be seen wandering around. Also many kind of noises are said to be heard throughout the castle.
