Brougham Hall CumbriaThe site of the hall as been home to a fortified dwelling since 1480 and have had a long and varied history. Brougham Hall was nicknamed Windsor of the North by the Victorians. The hall as a long connection with royalty King George V and King Edward VII were both regular guests. Brougham has been in decline for many years and began it downfall after it use as a defensive structure lessened. It was saved from demolition in 1985 and as been and continues to be in restoration.

There are many storie about strange goings on at the hall including the presence of soldiers, moving objects, loud noises and a cursed skull which is walled up in a unknown part of the building to prevent it from being moved, as it is said bad things will happen if it ever is removed from the property.
